Bloomington, Indiana, home of Indiana University and the setting of Dumbing of Age itself, will be my location on October 5! I’ll be signing Dumbing of Age books at Vintage Phoenix Comic Books from 5-7pm! I’ll bring a stack of them with me, of course, plus probably a few Shortpacked! book 1 reprints. If you live in or around Bloomington and wanna come meet me and maybe get a book or a sketch, I’ll be there!
I will eat at Mother Bear’s Pizza or I will die.

Ooh, that’s only 700 miles away. Like, exactly 700 miles. That’s kinda weird.
Raen
The phrase “only 700 miles” will never sound right to this New Englander.

the only thing I can think now is:
“Is Head Alien a Spiderman villan in the dummyverse?”
David
He replaces a window-thingy of STAS Superman in the real world: http://freshcomics.us/shop/in-vintage
Blob Marley
Wow, topping Supes? He must be a big deal ’round those parts.

God I haven’t had Mother Bear’s in so long… I used to live in University Apartments East, literally a 30-second walk across the street from Mother Bear’s. Guess I know where I’m eating when I go home for Christmas this year!
Sammy
Oh, my god! Let me buy you your pizza please?
Sir Robin
Does that mean they will be in the mail soon?
David
As quick as I can manage: http://www.dumbingofage.com/2012/blog/a-general-catch-all-update/
Sir Robin
I think I avoided reading that because of the Regan/Truman pic …
David
It’s FDR, not Truman, which makes it totally okay!

If only I could my Thanksgiving trip ahead two months…..
benabus
I’m totally there.
Haley
That’s my birthday! 🙂

Wish I could be there…
When this went up, my friend asked me how far from us that was… I checked: Google, 3 hrs. Unfortunately he’ll have to be at work right when it starts and I’d have to be literally the first or second person in line and would barely get to work directly from there on time… by slightly speeding.
ineichen
this disappoints me, my home of record is actually only roughly 3 hrs from there, too bad i’m station at ft hood lol

I hope you enjoy Mother Bears! My wife and I tried to eat there last Xmas when we passed through town and they were CLOSED (for renovations)….we’re still bitter and sad. Though we did get to enjoy Avers, and La Cheriada.
David
Yeah, apparently during those selfsame renovations, they knocked down a wall and doubled the size of that place. …right where I drew a wall in Dumbing of Age, making it inaccurate. Damn those guys.

I actually died a little bit when I saw this. So excited.

So, I was about to be all, hey, that’s not too far from me! Sweet!
Then, in an unrelated incident, I was nosing around Google seeing if you had a Twitter cos the link is broken on this site for @shortpacked, and Google told me that you live in Columbus. Where I live. So, that makes this update slightly less exciting. Unless it’s out of date and you’re living in LA or something.
neilebliss
ok, so don’t skip Mother Bear’s, but also grab a tenderloin out at The Office.

Mother Bear’s pizza YES

At first, I was like ‘maybe I can get the wife to go, its only like four hours!’
But then I remembered I live in Dayton, which is like half hour to your actual house.
Whoops.
David
For me it was about 3 hours and 45 minutes, if I didn’t ever stop. So I guess knock an hour off that for you.
