      Those are not vans. The Keeners are wearing normal sneakers/tennis shoes, same as almost everyone else I draw. And as far as I can tell, “vans” don’t have soles that look like that — they run straight across, not running up over the front of the shoe like a lip. A distinctive feature of vans also seems to be a colored shoe with a white sole, which neither of these pairs of shoes are.

      If you search Google Images for “tennis shoes,” you will see the kind of shoes these are, with colored soles with a lip up front.

      (Furthermore, I’m not sure why 40-50 year olds can’t be wearing “vans.” My wife wears a similar style of shoe, always has, and I’m not sure she’s going to suddenly stop in five years.)

    I think Dorothy’s mom is hella attractive.

    Damn you, Willis! Your style is not particularly realistic, yet you’re pushing all the right buttons. And every new character is distinctly different from the others. I find this amazing.

    Their names are Deborah & Jeremiah, apparently. This seems to suggest that Dorothy’s family background is not 100% atheist. At least her grandparents are probably religious. Which should not come too much as a surprise, I guess.
