If you’re seeing this instead of a new comic for today, it’s because we ain’t hit $42k yet.

Phoenix Comicon. Next weekend. Whether I can run this again next Sunday during the actual convention instead of a real comic depends heavily on how quickly that Kickstarter reaches $42k.

Hey!  We’ve had a Kickstarter!  And I know some of you don’t read this news stuff unless I put it up where the comic goes during the weekends, so here this giant thing is.  We funded the book run already, but I still wanna let everyone know in case they want to get in on the ground floor with some sweet rewards, like prints and magnets and original art. The Kickstarter’s also already surpassed its first stretch goal at $20k, which unlocked Saturday updates for the comics.  So if you’re scrolling backwards from Monday’s comic, be sure to navigate back one page from today’s to see Saturday’s comic!  These Saturday comics will happen for the next year. The next stretch goal at $27k, which we’re about to pass as well, is to print Roomies! Book 2 (collecting stuff of mine from 1999!)  with black and white interiors.  A few thousand dollars more and we can afford to get color interiors, as there were a few Sunday comics that year. Beyond that… perhaps unlocking Sunday comics on this site, so that Dumbing of Age updates all 7 days every week?  Maaaaaybe.  We’ll see.  I’m a little reluctant because unlocking Sundays means I can’t shove stuff in your face like this when I wanna. 🙂

CALGARY I AM IN YOU

Seemed like appropriate art to pull from my Dumbing of Age fan art folder for this week.   It’s by Yotomoe, as if you couldn’t tell, you know, from the adorableness.  The title is mine, I guess I should say.

I AM GOING TO BE IN CANADA NEXT WEEKEND. This is entirely due to the awesomeness of Danielle Corsetto, who last-minute needed a boothmate, and the Blind Ferret Entertainment guys, who helped me get some of my merchandise into Canada so I actually have something to sell.  (It is a very complicated and potentially amazingly expensive process.)  Since it was such a close call, I won’t have Shortpacked! books with me, but I will have a buttload of Dumbing of Age books and posters.  This includes the new Amazi-Girl Strikes poster and an even newer Dumbing of Age Cast of 2013 poster which I haven’t shown on this site yet.  (Unless those get incinerated during customs inspections, since those are a late addition and I will be bringing them with me.)  Or throw any amount of money in my tip cup and I will be happy to doodle for you.  It will be a swell Canadian time! and apparently my square creditcardreaderapp probably won’t work up there so man i’m gonna need some canada money

Holy crap, more birthday art for me!  This amazing thing is by MLBlue, who apparently knows that Peanuts is a pretty big throughway in my heart.  This particular traffic intersection makes me the happies.
