      Someone, Sal always wanted attention. In It’s Walky!, there were a bunch of flashback strips about Sal in high school. She was definitely extroverted! Granted, it was all an act to make friends, but she’ll probably do it again here.

    Now I am terrified that Willis is preparing a Sal-Mike relationship, which will just terrify half of the other characters in this strip.

    See guys, Willis isn’t THAT mean…Sal spent her life in a catholic school and she STILL kicks serious butt and takes names! Though I probably shoulda figured Willis would put Sal right under our noses.

    Also I just wanna say: EAT IT, BILLIE! BWAHAHAHAHA!

      Guys, catholic schools, especially the ones that you might get sent to as a female version of a military academy, actually encourage rebellion, not the other way around. Uniforms mean their clothes are that much more outre on the weekends, and they devote extreme amounts of time to making the uniforms look sexy. Heavy punishment for cussing means they swear like sailors, way worse than the public school kids.
      Just to point out that repression intensifies rebellion. All-girls catholic school returned a couple pairs of boxers to the all-boys catholic school by announcing for the entire hotel to hear that the guys should come to the podium and pick them up.

    I never read Roomies! or IW! or J&W! and I think this is a great strip just because it’s great. Doesn’t need history, just great on its own.

      He wanted this to be a fresh start: not seen as a remix of Roomies (I noticed someone gave him crap a few strips back in the comments).

      I began reading Roomies!, Its Walky! Shortpacked, and Joyce and Walky! after I began reading Dumbing of age because I was curious to see his other works : )

    As a biker myself, I can tell you– there is NO way Sal’s fabulous hair would fit under a helmet. Not if the helmet fits properly.
