A bit blunt there Dina; people who weren’t Sarah might not have taken it near as well. Which makes me wonder if we’re going to see her figuring out what is and is not acceptable behavior as she experiments with humor and conversation, with consequences more severe than a quick apology to Amber and odd looks. If she’s taking lessons from Becky in being a bit better at things like jokes and social interaction in general, then there’s a better chance of her having to confront that. I’m interested to see.
….I can’t help but suddenly be eager to see Dina test these newfound conversational skills against Ruthless.
(If only because it would lead to Billie overhearing and stifling laughter which Ruth would hear anyway and within minutes, Carla would be complaining about the slamming of doors again.)
What? Just because I enjoy gargling mayonnaise whilst balancing calico cats (whose white parts have been painted either blue or orange, depending on lottery) on my head and arms, whilst ALSO holding a greased broadsword between my teeth, every Tuesday night at 3:27 AM to ward off the brain-goblins that feast on my thoughts every night, that doesn’t mean I’m weird!! YOU’RE the weird one!
K^2
That is hardly being weird. That is being eccentric. If a man gets into a cardboard box and pretends to drive, he’s merely eccentric. If he gets into a box and thinks he’s driving, he’s crazy. And only when you see a man get into a cardboard box and drive off that you can call him a weird man. You have a long way to go.
dina’s working on that. in the mean time, she seems to have worked out that people can say inaccurate stuff without disclaimer. figure it out as you go along: that’s the scientific method!

whoa there youngster. there’s a difference between taking the floaties off and diving into the deep end
Mada
Oh I’m not expecting her to go and do that *now*, but…at some point it’d be fun 🙂
Twilightomens
I’m just interested to see Becky and Dina make out some more :p
Mada
As are we all 🙂
ozzi
They have made put and I missed it?
Nightsbridge
The party.
Atlantic Salmon
Humor is really hard to handle when you’re not good at reading people. The failure mode of clever is asshole.
Nightsbridge
I know that feel.
LittleMountain
We need a larger version of Dina’s second panel reaction.
Darkoneko
2nd class Dina, reporting for duty !
otusasio451
We are all a little weird.
Doctor_Who
Some of us are a lot.
Tacos
ALL of the weirdness >:O

…Is that weird or goddamned miraculous?
Argon
Yes.
jesslin
Depends on if there were already wheels on the box or not.
Atlantic Salmon
So eccentric is to crazy is to weird as dweeb is to nerd is to geek. Got it.
Leorale
Eccentric is a weird person with a lot of money.
clorr
If we weren’t the world would be a very depressing place to live.
Plasma Mongoose
I have my very own weirdness filter which allows to enjoy the level of weirdness I like most.
MeyerFTW
In my head when I read her closing line all I could think was *mic drop*
Zababcd
I had the same thought.
Screwball
What can I say…
We’re all mad here… O.o 8) 😛
Some of us more than others…
Captain Batson
Glorious!
Nono
Only Dina can serve four panels of comeuppance with a smile.
Darwin
Is that her first contraction? Is it? Is this a big moment?! *hopes so*
Tacos
No she’s used contractions before.
timemonkey
No.
Kamino Neko
No. And Ethan is gay.
Rycan
NO. WAY.
MrZombieScordo
But he’s had girlfriends, he can’t be gay!
Ozzi
And he dated that nice Christian girl, what was her name again? 😉
Darkoneko
Mary ?
Nightsbridge
Go sit in the corner and think about what you did.
Darkoneko
mu ha ha ha ha
timemonkey
Look at Sarah and all her friends. She’s becoming such the social butterfly.
gkheyf
in that she is an evolutionary conundrum that is none the less incredibly popular? i agree!
Nono
In University of Indiana, the more popular you want to become, the less popular you will be.
See: Billie and Sarah.
gkheyf
ouch! poor billie. at least she’s tapping that freckled ass
Mada
Or the freckled one is tapping Billie’s ass, if that strapon promise was any indicator.
Gamaran Sepudomyn
She wouldn’t be too happy to know that Dina is now officially hotter than her, though.
timemonkey
Billie’s got quite a few friends as well, they’re just not who she assumed they’d be.
Deanatay
I thought it was, “the more popular you assume you will be, the less popular you will be.”

First DoA in a while that’s made me laugh out loud
liahansen
Sarah is so not ok with being second favorite. Second place is first loser
Too Old To Be Cool
Second place is the first loser. Or so I have heard.
Spencer
If ya ain’t first you’re last.
TJ Pittsburgh
So, if someone else beat you to that comment by a couple of seconds . . .
darkoneko
… Yep.
Too Old To Be Cool
…then I’m the first loser. That’s correct. 🙂
MM
Oh, man, Dina’s smile in that last panel. I’d like a billion tickets to Hell, too, please.
FlyFly
Wouldn’t be Amber be second favorite after Becky? 🙁
gkheyf
dina’s working on that. in the mean time, she seems to have worked out that people can say inaccurate stuff without disclaimer. figure it out as you go along: that’s the scientific method!
Rycan
Sorry Amber, you’ve been demoted to third.
dailybrad
I love Dina sass.
gkheyf
i believe you have mis-punctuated ;3
but, yes. that back-talk at the end was pretty sweet
Stephen R. Bierce
“Gentlemen, BEHOLD!”
(meaningful pause)
“Avoidance of contractions–for EMPHASIS!”
EvergreenFir
I love Dina so much
Plasma Mongoose
At this rate, Dina might even understand people before I do even if she’s hindered by comic-book time.
Disloyal Subject
The problem with understanding people is that there’s so many of us.
BenRG
Worse, we’re all subtly or overtly different and, worse still, every last one of us thinks that we’re the normal one!
Vincent
Long and short, normal doesn’t exist.
People are dumber than they think they are. This includes me, and I’m brilliant (objectively).
Judge people by what they do, not what they could do.
… I think that covers it? I’m not real good at the whole attracting mate thing, though, you’re on your own there.
inqntrol
She sure learns fast.
David Herbert
“Second place? That’s just a fancy word for losing.”
– Bender Bending Rodriguez.
