So here’s a fun Webcomic Rampage story.  I’m pretty sure I’ll be telling this one a lot.  It’s a doozy. I mailed two boxes of books to Austin.  One arrived perfectly!  The other arrived, too, but in an interesting condition.  It was, in fact, a completely new cardboard box, with the old, shredded cardboard box inside.  The mailing address, return address, and postage had been exacto-knifed off the old box and taped onto the new box. Inside the old box inside the new box was half a blender. Yeeeeaaaaaah. Yeah.

Webcomic Rampage next weekend in Austin!

Hey, troops!  (Hmmm, I like using the word “troops.”  Can I start addressing you as troops?)  Next weekend I’m gonna be in Austin, Texas, at the Dragon’s Lair Comics & Fantasy store for Webcomic Rampage, joined by all of your other favorite webcartoonists.  Part of the gearing up for this special event is the Dragon’s Lair’s podcast, which this past week interviewed both myself and Joel Watson.  You can listen to this podcast on their website! If you’re planning on attending the Webcomic Rampage panel that opens both days of the event, be sure to RSVP via Facebook or phone, as there’s limited seating available!  After the panel there’ll be some signing and some wares snagging.  You won’t want to miss it!

Dumbing of Age is full of roommates who are foils, so I wanted at least one pair of roomies to be so similar that its bad for both of them.  So meet the two social recluses, Amber and Dina.    Here’s some folks who won’t be leaving their room very often.  Amber will be faceplanting herself into WoW while Dina will be too busy obsessing about dinosaurs to chip away at her crippling social phobias.  Aren’t they a fun, largely invisible pair.  They enable each other.

Now that the last few stragglers have shown up in Dumbing of Age proper, I can finally show you my Big-Ass Cast lineup image.  I started with Joyce on the right and moved my way left as I redesigned folks.  The folks on the right are obviously the main characters, but as you get to the left it gets a little more roughshod as I filled in holes I realized I’d left as the strip actually began.  Why’d I even bother drawing Rachel, anyway?  I don’t have any immediate plans for her, and she looks exactly the same as I’ve always drawn her.  Oh well. Oh, hey, and maybe at some point I should draw in a Jason.

Hey, dudes, there’s one last  hurrah for me this convention season, and it’s a doozy!  On December 11-12, Dragon’s Lair Comics in Austin, Texas, is holding Webcomic Rampage!  It’s Saturday and Sunday, each day beginning with a panel featuring all of us webcomics guests, and culminating in some Webcomics Christmas Shopping.  Who’s coming? New England Webcomics Weekend 2!

Hey, dudes!  Maggie and I are on the road to Easthampton, Massachusetts, for New England Webcomics Weekend.  Why?  Because NEWW is friggin’ awesome. We’ll be there for the Pub Crawl on Friday night, plus both “real” days, Saturday and Sunday.  There are over 50 webcartoonists at this thing, plus MC Frontalot!  Basically, if a meteor hits this town this weekend, the Internet is dead.  All you’ll have left is the LOLcats website and Movie-Comics. I’ll have a table where I’ll be hanging out.  I’ll have the Roomies! book, the two remaining Shortpacked! volumes, and some brand-spankin’ new Dumbing of Age merchandise.  Posters!  Hats!  Also, high-fives.
