Yeah, it’s kind of old fashioned, but I couldn’t think of a better phrasing. I usually mean it (and tend to hear it) as a dude with no doubts in the Gender Identity department, so anything goes in the Gender Presentation area (including being quite femme)
I think that as our cultural perception of gender evolves, it opens up new ways of thinking about this stuff. In the past, the discourse started and ended with “a straight guy who is feminine must be SO SECURE in his masculinity that he’s not afraid to be called gay or whatever”. Yup. Masculinity is largely a show, pantomime. I’m a straigh guy, but I don’t worry about it or try to present as male or straight. Those CIS gender games annoy me. Same with women working hard to ”femme” themselves up.

Eh, my husband and I share jackets both ways. Of course, I generally buy myself XL ones because I like being enveloped in fleece that comes down to mid-thigh and that I can wrap myself right into, and he’s tall and broad-shouldered (he’s virtually a foot and a half taller than me). I do have some that are more fitted that he doesn’t borrow, and some that were purchased in the women’s section but when I check if he minds when they’re the first ones I find if they’ll fit comfortably he won’t (they’re generally black/grey ones anyway; done up, you cannot tell).
We have reached the point where he’ll let me know that he’s bought us new fleeces because it’s just recognised that most of these are shared ❤️
