I also think Walky still cares enough for Dorothy that he might not be down for just a casual hook up. Also, I think(I hope) he’s doing some self reflection after how things ended with Lucy, and IMO getting back with his ex right now proooobably wouldn’t be a very good idea.
My interpretation is that Walky can tell there’s been an overt element of emotional desperation behind Dotty’s entreaties. She knows damn well how not classy it is to try to jump on your ex when they’re in the middle of an ambiguous, probably-breakup, Walky knows she knows. It seems like she’s been repeatedly trying to do the wrong thing as a way of, well… attacking her own self-worth.
