About bloody time someone stood up to her. If I was a girl I’d have stood toe-to-toe with her no matter how hard I got beat down. And the tubbo name-calling was uncalled for. Although I’d say, “Tubbo? Wow, I thought someone with your “higher education” could come up with something better you self-righteous, overbearing, sactimnious windbag.”
Know what happens when you and your ra assault each other in a kiddie pool full of mud? Raises from most of the male readers…and I’m not talkin about money.
Keep in mind Billie still has the pictures of Ruth passed out with alcohol in hand. I’m actually surprised Billie didn’t insinuate that again, but seeing as how Ruth took her by surprise she probably didn’t think of it. Perhaps that’s for later. Meanwhile I like where this is going.
Why is it always “Cat fight! rawr hiss hahahaha!” whenever women fight? You could have two men fighting over the pettiest reason, and it’s a fight, and usually turns into an action sequence. But two women? Context doesn’t matter! Let’s point and laugh and hope they tear each other’s clothes!
Personally I was hoping that the explanation wouldn’t make guys look like complete idiots, even if the reasoning behind the appeal is stable and I’d be lying if I claimed ignorance that that is the specific appeal for many men. One could make the argument though that some guys like women who aren’t afraid of a fight or can win one much like some women like men who file into that category.
das-g
The very category of Ethan and Willis? (In the other comic’s universe, at least.) If that wasn’t a cat fight there, I haven’t seen one, yet.
Bullshit. Guys can hit a girl just as much as girls can hit guys or one gender can hit their own gender.
Stop perpetuating stupid gender norms. 😐

Nobody should hit anybody. Violence is not an acceptable way of resolving conflict.
That’s not to say nobody does, I just don’t think we should be talking about who’s allowed to hit whom when the whole concept of violence as conflict resolution is abhorrent.
Zababcd
Violence is an inferior and flawed method of resolving conflict, but I wouldn’t say that it’s always ‘unacceptable’. It reflects badly on the person who has to resort to violence, but it can be preferable to inaction if the person is incapable of developing an alternative strategy of conflict resolution.
If one is in a situation where violence is the only option that they can find, then there shouldn’t be a question of who can hit who – there should be no option but to hit whoever one needs to hit. If there’s an option, then they should still be trying to find alternative solutions.
icepyrox
The stereotype (to my way of thinking) is due in part to a mental block. When dealing with the same gender, there is a sense of territory, dominance, pride, and other foolishness that seems to bring about violence as the only alternative. When dealing with the opposite gender, this seems to rarely come into play. In other words, I was brought up that violence, in general, should be avoided, but sometimes it can’t be. While I was brought up not to hit a lady, I will say that as Sean Connery once said, “Sometimes you just have to slap the bongo.”
Notice I said “just as much” as all the other situations? That completely avoids the debate as to how acceptable violence is in general. Whatever you deem the acceptable level and situations for violence, it’s the same across the board for genders.
I do agree that violence is not a solution in real world situations but… we’re talking about comics. It’s such an irritating trope to see. Such as when a super villainess is wiping the floor with a male superhero because he refuses to hit a girl.
I like the idea that Sal is lifting Ruth by the top of her head. First, because the way her hand is drawn, it definitely does not look like she’s just holding hair. Second, because it’s much cooler for her to be lifting Ruth by her scalp than to just be pulling hair.
Thirdly, I <3 Sal and want to have her babies.

I’m sure money could be arranged as well.

Yeah but the money would probably come from some female readers too

What’s that? You assaulted a student? Here, have a bag of money.

Ruth, you don’t get to abuse Sal’s roommate.

Actually, most girl fights I’ve seen are pretty brutal and violent. Worse than guy fights. And THAT is why I find them entertaining.
begbert2
Cat fights are entertaining because that bongo needs a brutal takedown and us guys can’t hit a girl. So we like seeing a girl doing the job we can’t.
Plus if clothes get ripped up during the fight, we generally ain’t complaining.

Plasma Mongoose
Sal must be picking Ruth off the floor going by Ruth’s face.
Robert
She can’t be. I don’t see any black eyes, missing teeth or even any blood.
Robert
I think sal can expect one of three possible outcomes from ruth.
1. She’ll roundhouse kick sal in the chin. Thereby knocking her clear across the room.
2. She’ll make out with her.
3. Ruth will cry like a baby and beg for mercy.

My guess it’s just that Sal has grabbed some of Ruth’s hair. That can be painful.
