If she had learned something from her earlier “change how you dress or else” bullshit episode it would be one thing but they’ve been back together for a grand total of MAYBE two minutes and she’s playing stupid power games once more to prove she’s in charge. In my opinion that pretty much defines she-beast.

    Well, not in favor of Walky playing the role of the doormat and in this case being straight up objectified just because he stood up for himself.

    But … I am liking the subtle Scrubs reference. I believe it was the second episode back before Carla and Turk were dating. She asks him to strip (implying that they were about to have sex in the on call room) and then just gives him the thumbs up and goes back to work. It worked there in context … here, it’s just mean.

    Seriously, if you ever want to figure out if something is fair, swap the genders. Imagine if Dorothy broke up with Walky because he said she dressed too “fancy”. Walky tells Mike who then threatens Dorothy to take Walky back, only for Walky to then tell her to strip and after giving her the once over leaves after saying, “our argument is over.”

    Sounds like stupid bullshit yes?

      That “swap the genders” thing is always bullshit. It’s as bullshit as “reverse racism.” It presumes a false equivalency. Guys are bigger, stronger, and still run society. Our actions towards women will always have different connotations than the reverse. Merely swapping genders in a situation ignores the factors that actually make it different in the first place. Now, if you just grew Dorothy six inches taller, added seventy pounds, and they lived in a world where Walky’s gender was constantly judged for being a “vagina-tease” or something like that — you know, a place where there’s some Law that if you see someone’s genitals you’re honorbound to fuck them, and if you don’t you’re a horrible jerk…

      Then, yes. THAT would be stupid bullshit.

        Although I sort of agree that the situation would be a worse without keeping the complex dynamics in mind. A guy telling a girl he made out with and had a fight with to strip, giving her a once-over, and saying “Okay, we’re square now” is a little fucked up. Like “show your boobs and I’ll forgive you.” It only works in this situation because Dorothy is generally dominant AND she’s female.

          I mean, OK, I can totally believe that Walky regretted the breakup.     I still feel uncomfortable about this. It says that the fact she’s likes his body makes up for their argument. First of all that ignores the argument all together. There are compromises they need to work out and they just totally avoided them.
    Secondly,Dorothy right now said. Ok, I remember why I wanted this relationship originally.
    It seems like she’s ignoring his personality, and is just there for the sex. That may not be what she’s saying, it just tends to look like it.
    So please excuse my squick.

    Haha, I don’t see why everyone is hating Dorothy for this. To me, it looks like she just wanted to see some sexy, to kind of lighten the mood a bit and get a good view. Also, Walky didn’t seem to mind. :3

    Anyone notice that the actual issue hasn’t been resolved? She still has issues with the fact that he’s a hell of a lot more casual than she is and he’s still gonna want to be autonomous.

    Mmm. On the one hand, yes, neither Joyce nor Dorothy can actually do anything to Walky, and if he didn’t want to get back together with Dorothy he didn’t have to, and if he didn’t want to take off his clothes he didn’t have to do that either. Totally granted.

    The thing is, though, he looks unhappy in panel three. Embarrassed, at the very least. So it’s hard for me to feel happy about this, when what I’m seeing is that Dorothy made him uncomfortable for her own enjoyment and then promptly wandered off once she was satisfied. I’m not saying she should have had sex with him; I’m saying I’d feel better about this conversation if she hadn’t been the only one smiling when she walked out.

    Having read all these speculations, and ‘what if..genders were same’…etc. etc. Also, read and reflected on the various Dorothy is a bongo, Walky is a doormat….
    I just wondered how I’d personally feel if a guy burst into my dorm room, insisted I makeup with a guy who’d dumped me, and then if I were crazy enough to allow said guy into my room and he ‘ordered’ me to strip, gave me the thumbs up, and left…what would I do?
    I’d buy a new lock for my dorm room, and seriously avoid both of them in the future.
