        I’m betting it’s an Amber from a parallel universe, who may or may not be Shortpackeds. Alternatively, it’s Amber Mom via some wierd kind of time travel thing.

        There’s no WAY DoA Amber would stop playing WOW for this kind of foolishness.

          Wow, that sounds almost like the premise for half the sci-fi flicks in the 80s.

      You didn’t sound like you were. Humans are inherently heavy. Even if you go skinny enough to be dramatically unhealthy, with an already light bone structure, that’s like sixty pounds. The average human is likely at around a hundred fifty, and you can be heavier than that without being fat.

      Amazigirl is carrying her in a position that doesn’t handle the weight well at all. With the poorly placed center of gravity and the additional weight provided the reverse leverage (or whatever the proper term is for that. A book is heavier when carried from the other end of a two by four), that’s likely two hundred fifty pounds or so being lifted by her torso muscles (Heavy amounts of guestimation involved in every step of this process).

      In addition to this she’s running while carrying all this weight and doesn’t seem to be straining herself. That’s a feat of strength and athleticism if ever I’ve seen one.

        She was able to kick a bunch of jocks in the face and escape on roof-top Batman-style, so clearly Amazi-Girl is either an amazing athlete or has actual super powers.

          I find it even more incredible that she managed to pick up and carry Billie for several seconds before Billie (or Ruth, even) even noticed her.

          yeah… at that point we’re either talking super speed, invisibility, or some form of illusion magic. I think I’ll just chalk that up to batman style dramatic appearances/disappearances.

          To date my favorite was an episode of btas where the criminal gets in the getaway vehicle and as their driving away batman slowly rises from the back seat. The only possible way he could have been there is if he’d been waiting since before they drove off to rob the bank.

      Billie apparently graduated high school as a star cheer leader (or so were lead to think) So its no issue that she’s probably quite light.

        “Quite Light” for a human is still 100+lbs. Cheerleaders aren’t ballet dancers, they actually plan to be able to walk at age 30. That requires eating food. And Billie apparently has built up her upper body, too. That combined with her basic body style suggests ~150lbs to me. That’s not fat(I’m scrawney and weigh that much), but people are heavy.

        Try this. Go to the store. Pick up a 40 lb bag of dog food. Put it on your shoulders. Now try to run. A ballet dancer is 2 of those. An athletic but small girl is 3. Billie is probably between 3 and 4.

      Why would Ruth give chase? She was asking “are you sure you want to go down this road?” rather than promptly fighting back – she’d rather maintain unchallenged power than fight. And at the moment, Billie’s stopped challenging her.

    Honestly, while I love Amazi-Girl, I’m kinda disappointed by her appearance here. Mostly because she’s already lost her dark batman-like mystique. She appears in the day, and in sight of everyone on the floor. Now everyone knows she exists. 😛

    I like Ruth’s “WTF” expression, really good job. The similarity of Billie’s expression on the next panel does kind of dim the effectiveness overall though. Also amusing is that Billie needs to express scorn before trying to escape the hold or ask what’s going on or do anything else really. Scorn for other people, then anything else; she has her priorities straight. 😉
