Considering that a girl who spends all her free time playing video games just carried her off Billie could hardly be as fat as Ruth insultingly claims.
I’m betting it’s an Amber from a parallel universe, who may or may not be Shortpackeds. Alternatively, it’s Amber Mom via some wierd kind of time travel thing.
There’s no WAY DoA Amber would stop playing WOW for this kind of foolishness.
Magnus369
It’s amber and mike’s daughter from the walky/shortverse. She got shot back in time across dimensions and now she has to fight college tyranny to get back home…
Wow, that sounds almost like the premise for half the sci-fi flicks in the 80s.
You didn’t sound like you were. Humans are inherently heavy. Even if you go skinny enough to be dramatically unhealthy, with an already light bone structure, that’s like sixty pounds. The average human is likely at around a hundred fifty, and you can be heavier than that without being fat.
Amazigirl is carrying her in a position that doesn’t handle the weight well at all. With the poorly placed center of gravity and the additional weight provided the reverse leverage (or whatever the proper term is for that. A book is heavier when carried from the other end of a two by four), that’s likely two hundred fifty pounds or so being lifted by her torso muscles (Heavy amounts of guestimation involved in every step of this process).
In addition to this she’s running while carrying all this weight and doesn’t seem to be straining herself. That’s a feat of strength and athleticism if ever I’ve seen one.
She was able to kick a bunch of jocks in the face and escape on roof-top Batman-style, so clearly Amazi-Girl is either an amazing athlete or has actual super powers.
Not to mention shes perfectly balancing Billie so she doesn’t topple backwards
gangler
True. That’s coordination right there. I’m guessing Amazigirl’s body is a finely tuned machine.

I find it even more incredible that she managed to pick up and carry Billie for several seconds before Billie (or Ruth, even) even noticed her.
gangler
yeah… at that point we’re either talking super speed, invisibility, or some form of illusion magic. I think I’ll just chalk that up to batman style dramatic appearances/disappearances.
To date my favorite was an episode of btas where the criminal gets in the getaway vehicle and as their driving away batman slowly rises from the back seat. The only possible way he could have been there is if he’d been waiting since before they drove off to rob the bank.
“Quite Light” for a human is still 100+lbs. Cheerleaders aren’t ballet dancers, they actually plan to be able to walk at age 30. That requires eating food. And Billie apparently has built up her upper body, too. That combined with her basic body style suggests ~150lbs to me. That’s not fat(I’m scrawney and weigh that much), but people are heavy.
Try this. Go to the store. Pick up a 40 lb bag of dog food. Put it on your shoulders. Now try to run. A ballet dancer is 2 of those. An athletic but small girl is 3. Billie is probably between 3 and 4.

My friends and I call it ‘saving’. Picked up the term around the release of both No More Heroes and Dead Rising (both of which allow you to save your game by doing your business.)
“Strike”, yes, but “piggyback” is the part he’s referring to. I’d bet you (like everyone else) expected either violence or something… you know… NOT involving actually carrying Billie on her back.
Digidestined of Trust (Tim)
True, but I could see that first, Amazi-Girl was going to direct Billie from doing anymore harm.

Plus, it’s also kind of looking at the code of the arts. Try to avoid any conflict while still dealing with the problem in a logical manner.

Amazi-Girl is immune to criticism, including nerd-hate.

Wow, she’s strong. Hoisting Billie up like that.
No, I am NOT calling her fat.

Amazi-Girl really is this world’s Batman.
Wonder when she’ll say “I’m Amazi-Girl”?
MeHael
She did. Danny even prefaced it with “Who are you?!”
David Herbert
But she hasn’t said it to Billie yet.

Next time she’s in space.

Amber is way hotter now that you describe it that way. No wonder Mike sticks around.
XLR
Amber? Where’s Amber? I only see Amazi-girl..
Björn
To summarize: baby got back!
Lokitsu
I just noticed why Amazi-girl is carrying Billie so awkwardly. If she straightens up, Billie will become intimately acquainted with the ceiling tiles.
Jacquie H
Considering women’s center of gravity is right around the middle, not the shoulders, that is ONE amazing feat right there.
But then, maybe I’m getting picky 😀
Danielle
Comic…..and its Amazi-girl is immune to critizism….Reality is just another form of critizism of what you “can” and “can’t” do. ^~^

Billie apparently graduated high school as a star cheer leader (or so were lead to think) So its no issue that she’s probably quite light.

How did she do that?

anyone else think Amazi-Girl has a me gusta face in the second panel?

Looks more like grim determination. She knows her powers of criticism immunity will soon be put to the test.

I can see it. Now I can’t unsee it. I hate your FAAAAAACE.

I would say it’s more annoyance. She IS missing her raid for this, after all.

What? I’m pretty sure Ultra Car doesn’t play WoW.

That’s what bio breaks are for!
Or she told them her dog was on fire.
A random reader
Is a bio break the same thing as having to take the call?
what call, you ask?
Nature.
…but really, are those two the same?

What the Fucking Hell!?
Damn it Amazi-girl! you have to work on your timing! You ruined (almost) everything!
(Still have a perverse sexual lust for Ruth in that shirt) 🙂

Anyone who claims to have seen that coming is a friggin’ liar.
Digidestined of Trust (Tim)
Actually, the last strip I said, Time for an Amazi-Girl Strike!

In the last panel of yesterday’s comic you can actually see Amazi-girl’s cape.

My face, it has egg.

This avatar makes everything I say better!

That avatar plus http://i451.photobucket.com/albums/qq236/1Samildanach/hubbahubba.gif would have powers rivalling Amazi-Girl, Batman, and their irradiated, arachnid-bitten offspring. Combined.
Digidestined of Trust (Tim)
That was great! Amazi-Girl STRIKES! I called it in that last strip too!

Gattai?

That second panel could stand on its own. Hallway superhero jousting–tell your friends!

Unfortunately this comic was spoiled for me by yesterday’s comments.

YAY, that was completely AWESOME! GO, AMAZI-GIRL!
Inara
I…that really *was* Amazi-Girl’s cape in the last strip?
David Herbert
Nice work for Amazi-Girl. Diffuse the situation and no one got punched.
Wonder how far she’ll carry Billie?
Joebo
well, aside from that first punch.
Dahlia
…I…yeah, ok. I can stand by Amazi-Girl.
Well done, Amizi-Girl. Well done.
