OH HEY!  GUYS WITH iPHONES!  The Comics Chameleon webcomic app has just gone live in the iOS App store, and so if you wanna read Dumbing of Age on your Apple Thinger in a me-approved way, that is totes a thing you should do.   And check out all these other comics available on Comics Chameleon!  They're all excellent!  Well, except Hijinks Ensue, obviously.  Dude hasn't finished writing my Book 2 foreword yet. (Book 2 Kickstarter is imminent.) (A heads up.)

    I’m sure Sarah would just decide not to bother with the romance stuff, but I really can’t understand how she imagined Joyce would have some other reaction.

    This is also what kind of worries me about Joyce right now. In one moment she’s really ill at ease, in the other she’s super-excited about toys. Maybe the shift is a protection mechanism…or maybe it’s just short attention span. (Actually, the latter sounds kind of likely. She seems able to be mature about things or understand them quite deeply, but she doesn’t maintain that understanding in everyday life.)

      Even if this weren’t the case: yes, yes, yes, of course. I’m doing a Dumbing of Age book every year as a first priority, everything else is an “if I can also do it” thing. Dumbing of Age has twice the readership of Shortpacked! and four times the readership of It’s Walky! and ten times the readership of Roomies!. I want DoA books to keep up to date with the strip, so skipping a year is not on the menu.

    Walky just got his first girlfriend as it is. Besides, he doesn’t hold what Joyce needs to work towards in high regard anyway,

    Danny? Advice on romantic prospects from an even bigger clingy, codependent weenie? Seriously?

    Unless what Joyce needs to help her situation involves making it much worse for her in the short run, not Mike,

    Suggesting Joe alone would be a bad idea, even if she was joking,

    Amber, even as Amazigirl, lacks experience,

    Dorothy is the same as Amber, plus the situation with Ethan may add a minefield to the mix,

    Roz’s only interest in Joyce’s desire to have a family of her own would be criticizing the anti-feminist allusions of it all, so she’s out for that alone,

    Leslie may be more inclined to give Ethan advice about dealing with being homosexual,

    Marcie would probably be a good choice, but I don’t think Joyce can read sign language well enough,

    Sal’s advice would be limited to a laconic, cynical one-liner,

    Ugh, list keeps getting shorter and shorter………..

      Actually, Leslie would probably be an awesome choice. Aside from being a professor in gender studies, she seems to be a well-adjusted adult and is probably also in a good position to recommend an actual counselor if necessary.

      Which is probably why we’re not likely to see her get involved.
