        It surely says something about Willis’s designs that he’s actually fairly recognizable from just that sliver. I don’t actually know what, but it must say something.

    Ethan and Amber spend the next few days taking shifts taking care of Danny, creating numerous moments of confusion where he doesn’t realize they’ve swapped out. Ethan leaves, Amber enters and greets him with a kiss, Danny’s like “Whoa, Ethan’s kissing me” until Amber speaks and he realizes what’s happened. That sort of thing.

    I do not understand why I am attracted to fictional boys, but flesh and blood women. This is a mystery of the ages.

    Anyhow, I am conflicted about the Danny/Ethan.

    On the one hand, I want them to do the do, or at least make out. Or have a kiss. Something, anything, PLEASE! But on the other hand, I really like Amber being happy. I don’t particularly like Amber and Danny together, never really did. They just…to me I don’t see this turning into a long term thing. It has the distinctive air of a fling, and it makes me a bit upset that Amber refuses to be Danny’s girlfriend–only Amazigirl is allowed to date him. I would love them to break up.

    But I don’t want them to break up because Danny lurves Ethan. I feel like that would really rip Amber apart. Not only is a second boy leaving her for dudes, he’s leaving her for her best friend. I would like to see Danny and Ethan hook up post break up. I would really like Amber and Mike to get together.

    There are so many things I approve of in this strip, starting from left to right with Tony’s tiny red shorts and ending with Danny’s hilariously unsubtle boner-hiding technique.

    As a gay dude who lived in a dorm with showers like this for several years, I must say that you’ve captured the experience pretty perfectly.

    Not as far as I know. It’s a little surprising in an abstract sense, since it’s a major plot point and apparently integral to Danny’s character development and presumably you are reading the comic because you’re interested and not because anyone is forcing you to. What’s interesting though is that you would assume that anyone care’s if you care.

          Dumbiverse David Willis wrote the comic “The Head Alien” that the “Dexter and Monkey Master” cartoon is based on. I am guessing he doesn’t hang around college campuses much. Though maybe he will be a guest in one of Mary’s art classes at some point or something.

    I love this strip. I can relate to it to an absurd degree. For me, there was TOTALLY an awkwardness in such settings (e.g. gym locker rooms) once I realized I was bi. That whole “don’t look, don’t look, people might think it’s weird” kinda feeling. Aaaand definitely more than awkwardness seeing your crush in a towel. Yep.

      Danny was never written as having an attraction to men in the Walkyverse, but then again he never said he was straight.

      Considering all that was happening in Roomies at the time and his subsequent fall from main character status and relationship with Billie, one could easily say that Danny never really had time to figure out his attraction to men.

      It’s the same with Becky, really. Her Walkyverse counterpart never expressed any particular sexuality.

    I have one last thing to say on this strip(hopefully): Danny is terrible at hiding his boner. That is THE MOST OBVIOUS WAY EVER. Granted, I do not have a penis, so I can only guess at excellent ways to hide a boner. I would’ve suggested placing the towel in front, so that it looks more natural. Shoving a shower caddy on your dick is not natural.

    At least I don’t THINK it is…
