          Knowing how to throw someone in the air to make sure they can be safely caught or land might also mean you know how to do the inverse as well: Throw them into the air in such a way that it’s nearly impossible to land safely.

    I’m glad the idea of Billie being a role model is dying, it wasn’t great for them or Billie. On the bright side though, all is as it should be between Ruth and Billie. This is how they express their love, playful bickering and/or sex.

      Well… i mean… that IS *why* your body forces you to barf. You’ve dangerously poisoned it, and it is fighting to protect you from dying. (even if you know you didn’t drink enough to actually kill yourself)

    There’s a big irony in this, although I’m sure that Billie isn’t in a state to appreciate it: The only real friend she’s made in Forrest so far is the one she likes the least: Lucy.

      I wouldn’t call them “friends” exactly (even if Lucy obviously disagrees with me).

      But they are both sharing the experience of having fallen from grace with the weird pod-people cargo-cult that is Forrest hall. Lucy because she wasn’t as cool as Billie, Billie because she wasn’t as cool as they thought she was.

      How and if they build a friendship from that shared experience remains to be seen.

    What’s even left to barf out? I thought most of dinner ended up on Ruth’s clothes (which is why she’s wearing loaner clothes), and they haven’t gotten around to breakfast yet.

    Also are we sure Billie doesn’t need some medical help with this cold turkey effort here?

    At least of Billie ends up in the hospital they might see Mike in traction or something. Or the morgue. Wherever.

      Yes, Billie should be getting some medical help here. Considering that she has severe alcoholic tendencies, an unsupervised cold-turkey approach to quitting is extremely dangerous.

      They were worshipping an illusion – What they wanted her to be, not who she really is. When they saw the reality and that it wasn’t that illusion they wanted, they just walked away like the disappointed customers they were.

    how long has Billy been detoxing now? My mom was on tranks and IV for 5 days while she was in the hospital for her heart attack. Basically never knew that she was going through detox, and subsequently never acknowledged the fact that she had a drinking problem either.

      I can tell you she started Sunday night. I unfortunately have no clue what day it is.

      This is Tuesday. It was Sunday night she officially stopped – after Ruth drank again and wound up in hospital. We know Billie drank Saturday night, but not if she drank during the day Sunday. Probably not, since she was sick from it by Monday morning.
