    Shouldn’t Billie know at this point Sarah’s not overly fond of her and wouldn’t be thrilled with Joyce taking after her?

    And also, Billie–surprisingly–dresses a bit more conservatively than Sarah’s thought-bubble depicts Billie!Joyce. Another reflection of the whole “Joyce and Sarah look at Billie and see two completely different people” thing.

    The pigtails could indeed work, though I just can’t see Joyce actually choosing to wear a crotch-length mini-skirt (regardless of the awesomeness).

      I can’t really see either of them wearing something like that. Billie’s “whoreishness” is more behavioural than it is about attire.

        I mean she said stuff about being drunk enough to be some sort of walking man goo receptacle, but so far Dorothy has had more sex than Billie.

        Sarah really is making a big assumption about Billie, I mean shes no angel, but her alcohol addiction doesn’t feel that bad… at times.

    This strip paints Sarah in a new light- it almost seems like she doesn’t want Joyce to change.

    Right now, Joyce as she is is manageable- aside from the party last Friday, she’s a bit crazy at times, but she doesn’t interfere with Sarah’s studies, which is her numero uno importance. Then Billie comes alone, and threatens to undermine that. Given Sarah’s past conversations with Joe, it does give her a bit of a selfish motive for trying to protect Joyce.

    I do think that Sarah genuinely cares for Joyce and looks out for her. But she might also end up being an enabler for Joyce not to change.

      Eh, I see what your saying, but it seems to me like she’s still being protective. I think she’s worried that Joyce could get herself hurt if she dresses like Billie- and maybe that would involve Sarah having to do more work, but I think the heart of the matter is that she cares about her.

    The best part is that Sarah can’t picture a Billie-makeover without alcohol being an integral part of it. She likely thinks that stein would be strapped to Joyce’s hand.
