It’s true! Freshman year, I kicked a 6’3″ dude off of a couch and he actually fell off. We were both surprised. I have brothers, he’s an only child — he was like, “why did you kick me?” and I was like “why did you fall??”
The power of sibling love is the only real magic in the modern world, it turns what would be a potentially dangerous act (shoving someone off furniture) into a funny gag (trying to shove someone off furniture and then turning into an immovable object)
Lmao similar thing when my very good friend (guy, only child) and I (girl, 2 brothers) were playing some form of football/keep away in a pool with some other friends. He got got the ball and seemed to think I wasn’t a threat, then I tackle-dunked him. When he resurfaced he said something along the lines of, “You must have brothers.” Still makes me laugh.
“I am going to tell you something Benedict should have told you long ago,” I said. “Never trust a relative. It is far worse than trusting strangers. With a stranger there is a possibility that you might be safe.”
“You really mean that, don’t you?”
“Yes.”
“Yourself included?”
I smiled. “Of course it does not apply to me. I am the soul of honor, kindness, mercy, and goodness. Trust me in all things.”

A lesson she took very much to heart, as I recall.
I am trying to parse whether her response is “We are siblings and I don’t take that sort of lip without hitting you” or “You crossed a line and touched a nerve. I am legitimately pissed off”.
I am not thinking of a reason why Jennifer would be taking this more seriously than any other Walky snark, but her expression in panel 4 looks particularly enraged.
Pretty sure it’s the first one; this is sibling behavior at it’s peak.
DashWallkick
Yeah, it’s the first one. He’s grateful for her comfort and support, but he can’t help but Walky things by bombing them for a joke antagonizing her cause it’s comfortable for him. Jennifer retaliates like any older sister would — “You mother *fucker!*” and hitting him.
My personal experience is that it’s very easy to actually offend and enrage a sibling you’ve been teasing for years, and not always easy to understand what the difference is.
That’s what I was thinking- she looks particularly angry and she’s getting the page focus, Walky isn’t ‘comically blown out of frame’ so much as his feet are a prop here
It’s jennifer. Just cuz it’s getting violent does NOT preclude it getting romantic. If anything, physical altercations really is the best way to warm up before a passionate session.

Don’t trust…..I mean damn he just got rolled. ?

Don’t trust top bunk beds!

Semi-regular reminder that they are loft beds, not bunk beds.

NEVER trust pseudo-siblings.

“I trusted him like a brother, which is to say, not at all.” – Corwin of Amber
Arian
Well, yes. In Corwin’s case, that was entirely reasonable. Their father really did them no favours at all, not naming an heir.
Pappenheimer
That’s true, but an heir was finally chosen, entirely at random.

Oh.
I totally missed that on first glance.

I’d prolly be more concerned about agitating the nugs still being digested..

Nobody wants agitated nugs.

It’s okay. It’s not her floor.

Walky’s not wrong, but this might not have been the right time to tell Billifer that.

Jennifer likes to think that she can solve other people’s problems. Walky is saying the opposite.

There’s comfort in familiarity, and what’s more familiar than pissing off your sibling?

Wow, Walky died in your birthday comic,
It must have been something he said,
He should have walkied away,
He should have walkied away.
(I don’t know why that came into my head, but happy birthday.)

Happy Birthday, and may Walky die on your birthday every year onward.

Walky dropping truth bombs… at terrible moments. He’ll be okay. If he survives the landing.

“Walky bombs” sound like what he’ll be dropping a certain number of hours after eating all those mcnuggets.

Ow.

Did she kick him off the top bunk?!
Doctor_Who
Man’s 78% McNugget by mass right now, he’ll either bounce or just leave a very greasy stain.

also, it’s not a bunk.

Are you debunking this?

Either the humor is lofty or it’s all bunk.

Nah, the last fight made the comments unfuckingbearable over something equally silly and seemingly harmless. I’m not falling for it twice.

Odd you should mention falling for it.

When we next cut back to Jen we’re going to be seeing her contact Ruth to help her hide a suspiciously Walky shaped trashbag

Gotta tell you, this is going in a very different direction than Yotomoe’s fan fiction.

Yotomoe
You’re right. I shoulda included more violence. Clearly a characterization issue on my part 😛
Steamweed
Ooh? (*Booster-style perking up of interest) Where does one find this fanfic? AO3, perhaps?
digitrev
It’s a fancomic hosted on imgchest: https://imgchest.com/p/qb4znodr34j

Warning: very definitely NSFW.
Lack of violence aside, though, the characterization feels impressively accurate.
