This is the last strip in the "Uphill from Here" storyline.  It was supposed to land on a Friday, but I miscounted strips.  Tomorrow begins "Men Are from Beck, Women Are from Clark."

          I don’t see what’s so bad about Dahlia taking a moment out from efforts to stave off top secret international crises from blowing up just to agree with what someone else wrote. The important thing is that Dahlia spared a moment to find someone else’s efforts amusing.

          Then again, it’s a little disturbing to say out loud that Dahlia was in agreement with Jen Aside.

      He screamed at her and chucked a toy at her head. A toy, which he apparently carries around with him at all times, from a Saturday morning cartoon. He had his feeling revealed and spent the entire class as a red-faced mute because of it.

      I think Walky’s immaturity has been pretty well established. If not, he’ll doubtless make a poop joke within 12 seconds of their first date. Either way I don’t think it’ll take Dorothy by surprise.

      His immaturity may translate to him trying to force her to consider a more serious relationship, which sounds like that might’ve been part of the issue she had with Danny.

        Good point, no lady can resist a Monkey Master toy. Unfortunately, there are none in existence (that I’m aware of), but I can probably create one with some paint and an Optimus Primal toy. Also, have you considered changing your avatar to the Joker? (If you don’t get the joke, that was the Joker’s true identity in a Batman film, though I can’t remember which one.)

    Does this mean at some point in the future Danny will try to beat up Walky for muscling in on “his” gal?

    If so, I think Danny will look like a sure winner for the first 75% of the fight, then Walky will do something so out of left field that he gets the upset victory.

    Alternately, they start fighting, make fools of themselves, then Dorothy shames them into stopping with withering scorn.

      The sad thing about that scenario you brilliantly described is…

      I can see this happening…sure, maybe not in the immediate future, but soon enough…which is sad, because he’ll be hypocritical if hes gonna be obsessed with Amazi-girl at that point (though, sadly, this has not been writ in stone, so I can’t say with 100% certainty).

    Wait, everyone just left the classroom and LEFT THE DOORS OPEN? That’s a serious no-no on most campuses, as classrooms often have PCs, DVD players, and $1500 projectors strapped to the ceiling.

    I call shenanigans on your timeline, sir.

      I could totally see Dorothy walking in on Leslie cleaning up, finding something academic-related to talk about, then sneak over and grabbing the toy when Leslie left the room.

      There are still projector-free classrooms out there that remain open. Trust me.

        Yeah, there’s one building where there’s only two or three rooms with projectors or computers at my school. The cleaning staff usually lock up the rooms at the end of the day.

      My campus will occasionally leave the doors open to the classrooms when there’s nobody in there even if there is expensive equipment in there. It all depends on who the last person to leave the room was. Many of the teachers will hightail it out of there pretty quickly in order to get to their next class, so if there’s a student left in the room who doesn’t care about closing the door the door stays open. (Of course the newer buildings have doors that automatically swing shut, but the older buildings still have the doors you can leave open.)

        Most of the buildings at my college are old. T.T Makes for some really crowded classrooms. (Yet the upper brass at the college get paid huge six figure salaries while the teachers don’t have enough money to do printouts for their classes. Well, we do go there to learn about how the world works, I guess.)

    Had to take a break from the series so I could distance myself from all the pairings set up in the previous universe. Now if this comic has Dorothy & Walky getting together rather than Walky & Joyce, I won’t get all weird about it.

    That said, I kind of like the way the romantic tension is building between Walky & Dorothy.
