      Sal/Joyce. Joyce is already basically obsessed with her, Sal has enough religious knowledge from her years in Catholic school to convince Joyce that not all sin is bad, and Sal did go to an all-girls school during her teens. Not to mention she seems to love angering her parents.

        I don’t care about Danny a bit, so I honestly wouldn’t give a crap if Danny went all emo or Amazi-girl obsessive (or both) but so help me if his pathetic depression ends up affecting another major characters life (especially one I happen to LIKE) in a negative way I will—

          I’m not getting on THIS universes Danny for getting depressed over being dumped! Thats understandable.

          However, in the main walkyverse, Danny being depressed (what I got was he started drinking because of all his problems) led up to the events of Ruths death because he drove DRUNK trying to drink away all the depression. I simply don’t want a repeat of that with Ruth or any other character (jesus, not even Billie deserves Ruths horrible death in the Main Walkyverse).

    Walky looking nervously at Dorothy, Joe and Roz checking each other out, it’s great how one strip can cover sideplots like that without even needing wordspace to do so.

    Seeing as I’ve never read the original comics all the way through (I’m trying, I swear), does Joe really have no empathy at all? Or tact?

        Yeah, I can think of a couple moments in itswalky where joe was considerate, but that’s a lot of comics for only two moments. He has a heart of gold to be sure, but you got to dig real deep to find it. Half the battle is just getting him to think about not sex for a moment, and good luck getting him to understand that a man can have problems beyond a dry streak.

      If I had to guess, Joe just wants people to deal with their own crap. HE does it, so they should be just as capable.

        But isn’t that what Danny is doing? He’s dealing with his crap in his own way which means mourning in his room.

        I mean, so far we haven’t seen Danny ask Joe for emotional support. Joe is the one who showed up wanting to know if he can have sex with Dorothy after all.

        Seem’s Joe is simply annoyed that Danny is even bothered by the break-up.

        Besides, Joe doesn’t have any crap to deal with. He’s never been in love in this comic (as far as we know so far) and all he wants is to get laid.

          Enh. Sitting in his room blocking out the world isn’t really ‘dealing with it’ … and if he’s as annoying as he was in Roomies about a break-up, I fully give Joe thumbs up to do what must be done.

    Lecturer: “How many of you are in a relationship?”
    -Many people put up hands-

    “By the end of the year most of you will have broken up!”

    We were also then informed that that wasn’t a valid excuse for not keeping up to date with work etc and they didn’t care. They only took things into consideration if you were exceedingly ill or if a close family member had died or something (and even then it would have to be very near exams in that latter case).

    So if this uni is the same… Danny could be in trouble if they take registration etc. and feel its important. They’re not going to CARE that he broke up with his girlfriend.

      This was similar to my first thought on reading the comic. Isn’t this the first day of classes? Isn’t he missing his first day of classes? I know he didn’t go to college in order to learn, but if he doesn’t show up that will be grounds for academic dismissal, and those are hard to stop. I claimed (accurately) that I had a chronic illness that caused my academic nonperformance, and they still kicked me out. “My girlfriend broke up with me” is really a lame excuse.

        Wth kind of colleges do you guys go to where they are that strict with attendance?

          A lot of the classes I went to, if you miss three or so classes, they drop a letter grade. When I transferred to art school, if I missed more than two days, I’d have to take the quarter over.

          These sorts of things happen when, as you say, nobody goes to classes. They come up with crazy ways to make you want to show up.

    Wouldn’t it be interesting, if Danny is the sacrifice of this universe? I mean, the way things are going, it’s a long road up from him being considered anything but a whiny brat who lost what he deserved to lose…but in death, he can whammy the hell out of Dorothy and, well, it would equal out the ‘drama gets real’ effect I’ve noticed Willis like to do.
