No, he’s gay, plenty of reason to believe that. He did marry a woman, but likely to help her with immigration (and make some money for himself). He has been in multiple relationships with men both before and since.
She’s honestly a decent teacher, in an interger overflow kind of way. She is teaching American politics as someone who is flagrantly corrupt, incredibly incompetent, and somehow miraculously thrived because she knows how to present to people in ways they want to see.
So she’s been teaching the class along those lines. “You shouldn’t believe anything I say or do because I’m a total fraud — all that matters is that I fill what people need and know how to play by the rules.” Sounds like a politician to me!
Robin isn’t sticking to the dryer, academic side of her class. She’s constantly filling in with commentary from real-world experience. Many class subjects benefit greatly from that input. Hopefully she’s sticking to the facts and not embellishing.
The problem is … the real-world experience is how you get ahead in an effed-up system. And not even “you’ve got to be in power to change things”, because she doesn’t seem to get why someone who’s in power would want to change things.
Like, “If yer gay in politics, I’d recommend … not” is … not great? Even if it’s true, it’s not great?
