          I think there’s a weird phenomenon in the US, and maybe elsewhere, whereby the bullies are perceived to be the ‘popular’ kids just because no-one dares to tell them otherwise. It runs counter to the definition of the word ‘popular’, but the perceived popularity remains. Of course, then you have people learning a different definition of ‘popular’, so then bullies start to become automatically popular. In Australia, some people have absorbed this principle from, I can only assume, US television, and it causes a sort of divided school culture. Well, in the schools I went to. I haven’t been to every school in Australia.

          That’s what I like best about his comics, I think – he lets people speak their minds, even if he doesn’t agree. So this must have been douchetacular.

          It’s important for people to speak their minds, but I also want comments to strike a non-creepy tone. We should all be nice and generally not murderous snuff aficionados. These comments should be a pleasant place to say you like and dislike things.

          But I think Aizat was talking about the non-creepy thread he participated in, which I got rid of because Tucker fixed his threading mistake, leaving a redundant post. That was just housecleaning.

        BTW, oddly enough, the local classic rock station played “If Today Was Your Last Day” a few couple of months ago. I say “odd,” because this station doesn’t usually play anything more recent than the early 90’s — and recently, they’ve played Nickelback, Pearl Jam, and even Nirvana (yes, I know Nirvana is early 90’s, but they’re Grunge/Alternative, not “Classic Rock”).

        Anyway, awesome song, Tucker; thanks for posting the link. Now, back to shipping Danny/Walky/mud.

        I just spent a moment realizing how *hard* it would be to “draw wet”. Real people, when wet, exhibit this fact through the following factors:

        1) Droopy hair.
        2) Droopy/wrinkly clothes (if baggy).
        3) Their clothes darken.
        4) They develop a slight shininess.

        The droopy hair is present but very subtle, and while the clothes issues admittedly could have been done more to Walky’s shorts), the effect of water on skin would be darn near impossible to represent recognizably on a webcomic that uses this model of shading. Willis has my sympathy.

    Hmm… I was going to complain about the inconsistency on the grey stripe running through the over-the-shoulder strap of Billie’s bikini top when she’s submerged in the water up to the shoulder straps versus when she isn’t, barring the first such submergence. But then I realised that no-one wants to read about that.

    Also, I’m not sure whether Billie is jealous, just tired of Walky’s obnoxious lovestruck grade-schooler act, or actually trying to do him a favor by getting him closer to Dorothy. Maybe all three?

    To me, it seems like Billie has something else on her mind besides Walky. Maybe she’s fed up with the lack of attention from Sal (hehe), and she’s trying to deflect the attention Walky’s giving her to Dorothy, so that she can a) get Sal to notice her (in part from her moving from the water to the beach, and because Walky’s her brother, so he’s bound to attract her attention at some point), and b) make a point that she’s not after Walky (dumping him on the sand in front of the girl he likes, as if giving him up).

    I think, in context of the poster, that actually seems… credible. You know, seeing as she’s acting really pissy right now, but in the poster, the way she’s smiling…

    …All right. I officially ship Billie/Sal now.
