    The joke in this one probably requires a certain amount of knowledge of the names and uses of certain building and wings of buildings on this campus. Which I don’t have, so my best explanation for her explanation is that that she’s having a sudden call to nature.

    And yeah, I’m sure that all the relevant information was given at the start of the comic. Which was several decades ago.

      The comic today has nothing to do with knowledge of names or locations. The scenery today is literally just scenery.

    I have to say, as a first-year college student myself, it is during the long wait for the elevator that the mind begins to work in mysterious ways, and the hidden fears and anxieties crawl towards the light and whisper doubts into the heart. Like, maybe I shouldn’t have bought that muffin.

    Yes, Amber, the stairs are much better at toning your glutes… work harder and you will surely cause Danny to shout.

    Not sure what’s happening. Is she changing her mind about going? Is she getting impatient for the elevator and decided to take the stairs? Suddenly realized she forgot her mask?

      She lied to Dina; she doesn’t have to go upstairs, she’s going to see Danny. She pretended to wait for the elevator until she was sure nobody was looking. Her costume is in the knapsack and she plans to change somewhere along the way.

      Her funny expression in panel 3 may be guilt over lying to Dina, or worry about being late for her date, or anxiety over whether she should tell Danny the truth. Or maybe all three.

    She’s a costumed hero. Almost getting in an elevator. With “CLARK” written in giant letters in the background. I can’t begin to describe how happy that made me.
