    I haven’t read newspapers in years, its all on line. Which has worrisome moments, in that newspaper writers took more time researching what they wrote years ago, and now they don’t seem to. I don’t recall stories being recalled, edited etc. to the extent that they have been in the past 10 years. On-line news spreads so fast, right or wrong factually. You have to stop and think before you accept half of it, and research the other half on more than one site. As to Joe, yes like me, he probably liked the comics. As to Elvis, all I can think of is the last Elvis outfit that sticks in my mind? The white rhinestone covered one, complete with a cape? Why Joe would think of this is beyond anyone but Joe, and Willis 🙂

      Do you actually think that printed newspapers are 100% factually correct? I got bad news for ya….

      Uh, newspapers retracted or printed corrections for stories back then, too. It’s just that it was buried on page 33 two days later, rather than appended to the bottom of the online copy like. And getting multiple versions was time consuming and mildly costly, vs. being able to websearch for other articles or blogs trivially, so you were more inclined to trust Your Newspaper.

    While dry-humping an Elvis impersonator, Danny’s hand sustained a massive injury that can be seen in the last panel.

    I’ve noticed a few times that Willis’ art has become so stylized that there can be some jarring moments if you stop and look at slightly weird things. ‘Course, this happens for all long-running stylized works. Artistic shorthand is developed. (No pun intended.)

    (Also, is Danny taller in panel three than panel one? Did he stand on his tippy-toes to look severe while making a point?)

      I see that now. I think it’s just Willis went into automatic mode in drawing his comic. That’s alright though. The storytelling need to be cooked all the time though.
