        I think you might be stepping into parasocial there, characters aren’t real and it’s not creepy to view them doing things which are generally private. The creator consents to showing/writing/drawing that stuff, and that’s the part that matters.

      At least minorities as a whole have gotten pretty good representation in Slipshine. Besides Sal and Walky, we’ve also had Malaya, Dina, Jennifer and Roz.

      I think the only full on white action that I can remember is Danny/Amber (and maybe Ethan/Mike).

        This makes me curious as to which character has featured the most in slipshines. Sal maybe, or Danny? I think they both have two. Any character been the star of more than two? Amber or Jennifer possibly? Mike maybe? Has he only been in one despite all the mom fucking he claimed to be responsible for?

    Jacob is too good for Sarah, and I mean that as a compliment. He’s aware she’s super into him, aware she has a difficult past, even dated her sworn enemy without knowing it, and he’s just patiently waiting for her to get over her fear of vulnerability to accept her.

      Some people, some of the time, find difficult or puzzling people intriguing. If there’s a good core once you’re past the puzzle, you can win big, with your own patience and understanding on display the whole time. If.

      We know that Jacob was impressed with Joyce’s fierce defense of her friend; Sarah’s baseball bat might also impress him.

      I think he’s *been* interested, but he just isn’t going to deal with some of her shittier behaviors in the past. He knows she likes him, he’s intrigued enough by her, but she has to meet him halfway or he’s willing to shut things down, as we’ve seen.

    I don’t care for the the idea of Sarah+Jacob to begin with, not even a little bit, and so I hope this entire thing all burns down around Sarah.

    But ignoring that… if Jacob is actually into Sarah at all, he needs to just go ahead and let her know. Or, more importantly and possibly more relevantly, if he’s not into Sarah at all, he needs to definitely let her know, and the sooner the better, rather than just stringing her along for his own amusement (or whatever the case may be). Because, really, if he’s not into her, then this here is rather dubious behavior on his part (especially with that seemingly mocking expression in the penultimate panel).
