    I don’t blame Dina. She knows what “normal” college freshmen do on Firday nights. Amber just returned in the morning with messy hair, the smell of alcohol and sweat on her clothes, and a look of regret on her face. Dina is just being polite by not mentioning the video she found on the internet involving her roommate and Roz.

    Oh my God, I’m so sick of people diagnosing fictional characters with Asperger’s. Because, hey, shyness and social awkwardness just isn’t interesting enough.

      In general I’d agree, but there are a few instances where characters fit the diagnosis well enough for that to be a logical assumption. I was surprised to find out that Big Bang’s Sheldon wasn’t written with the condition in mind because he fits it to a tee.

        I’d actually agree there, with Sheldon. I’m just tired of people saying ‘Wow, s/he has trouble in social situations, maybe ASPERGER’S?!’. I find it such a lazy (and worse, boring) way of interpreting a character.

          The problem with autism is that there is an ENTIRE FUCKING SPECTRUM of it. Which means you can find anyone with any personality quirk and find a way to place them in the spectrum so that they “fit it to a tee”.
          Side note, in case not everyone is aware: Asperger’s is considered on the autism spectrum.
          Personal note: I feel roughly 95% of autism cases are overdiagnosed, and would better be defined as simple personality differences.

    Yeah, I gotta say I agree with people saying that it would be kind of unusual to be surprised by a flatmate staying out all night whilst at uni. They might get a ‘Whey! Dirty stop out!’ if you knew they pulled the night before, but really staying out all night is a fairly common occurrence at that age surely?
