      Agreed. This has me thinking that there won’t be much of a “relationship” between those two after all. Which sucks in my opinion, but at the same time, I’ve seen potential relationships killed-off for lesser reasons in the real world. It is stupid, but of course it really does happen.

      Here’s hoping that they can work at it more before she breaks his heart.

        Somehow, I think Walky will reveal it surprisingly soon. There’s a few times in DoA that he’s had something happen sooner than we expected- Walky and Dorothy’s kiss, for one thing.

    Recipe for show:
    Have 1 ounce of mystery fling made up of equal parts of:
    1 partner who has an image to uphold/
    1 Partner who doesn’t care what others think of him
    Mix in crazy bongo who knows nothing and will try to put mystery fling together as if it isn’t
    Toss in a handful of onlookers

    And we have a show.

      It’s not exactly high fashion, that’s all. And from my observation it’s not really flattering to anyone’s figure, male or female. I imagine Dorothy wants the guy she just made out with to look like he’s trying a little harder. But well, she’s gonna either need to accept that Walky is Walky or this is going to end badly. Or fantastically, if you’re Mike looking on.

    Considering the fact that Walky would be a rebound even if this doesn’t immediately kill things I don’t see this lasting forever. There’s also the fact that Dorothy is the first girl Walky’s ever been interested in and seems to like her on a very superficial level (He thinks she’s pretty and they like the same cartoon). I don’t feel like this ever had long term potential but given the way this comic works this brief/doomed flirtation could last the next 2 to 3 years…

      I mean outside of the monkey cartoon they really seem to have almost nothing in common and Walky is so painfully immature and Dorothy’s probably to serious for someone as childlike as Walky. Opposites do occasionally attract but you need something to base a relationship on and physical attraction will only get you so far.

      Maybe Dorothy likes Walky because he helps her loosen up and enjoy life? It’s not the shared cartoon itself, but that Walky’s still in touch with his youthful exuberance she seems to have forgotten in her ambition.

      As for what Walky likes about Dorothy? I dunno, they like the same cartoon?

      But seriously, maybe he likes someone who has direction and determination, like his sister. I don’t quite get Walky’s psychology.

    Is it just me, or is DoA Joyce super judgmental? Of all the characters, I’d say she probably could benefit most from the alien-nappings! (No, I do not mean naps with aliens, that would probably be interesting and possibly fun.)

      Actually, I think Joyce handled this pretty well. She appears more offended that Dorothy blew her off (which Joyce has every right to be,) and didn’t even mention the PHP. At least not yet.
