          That’s nothing, Wigu has been going for a whole decade and has only progressed *exactly* 2 weeks!

          It’s not exactly uncommon. Hayate no Gotoku has been running for eight years and about four months have passed in comic. The Fancy Adventures of Jack Cannon has been going for three years now and it’s been three or four days in comic.

          The entire concept of comic book time is that real time isn’t relevant to it. It’s not taking place today. If you read the comics in sequence then I’m sure it’s only half an hour between the passing of days. Just pretend like you’re enjoying a story like any other. 2 hours of The Matrix isn’t literally 2 hours of Neo’s life, nor is the five years between it and the sequel five years of story time. Same in books, television, and comics. Yes, even those of the web variety. Let’s not render the entire concept of comic time meaningless by making it reliant on real time.

    If this is anything like my old college, then documenting Ruth’s abuses, gathering evidence, and reporting on them in any way will get Billie reprimanded and/or kicked out for “slandering rightful authority figures.”

    Or she might just be forced into counseling with the psych department.

        yeah,again, thinking about how my old college worked. Ruth wouldn’t even have to defend herself – pictures or not, evidence or not, it’d just be dealth with.

      Your college was insane. If it was even hinted that I (as an RA) STOLE something and defaced it… man I would be out on my ass so fast it wouldn’t even be funny. Especially if I was stupid enough to be involved in a physical altercation with the supposed victim TWICE in public.

        Lots of colleges are insane. My friend slipped on an unsalted walkway (at 10 AM) at my old college and broke his leg. He was flat-out told that if he sued, he’d never graduate, and they’d sabotage his attempts to get his transcript transferred.

        I think he eventually got around that, but it was crazy even to say that.

        Actually, she didn’t, those are two separate holes in the uniform, the first for the N and the second for the S.

          From the look of it, I think the letters are only unstitched : sure the fabric is clearer, but the shadowing is continous. Anyway, Ruth wants to put pressure on Billie, if she can’t retrocede the outfit in wearable shape, why should Billie abide ?

          Beside, this can be a new streak of Ruth wickeness, yay !!

    1) Walky appears to be wearing pajama pants.

    2) Billie is vastly overestimating the influence of the IU student paper.

    3) It’s probably for the best that we don’t see Walky’s face as his expression morphs from nervous befuddlement to mind-erasing terror when he realizes that the girl he is infatuated with is in his room and he is wearing pajama pants.

    I was just rereading Joyce and Walky and I discovered Walky did have a crush on Dorothy in highschool but she shuned him now Im wondering if the one alternate universe where Dorothy and Walky got together might be this one.

      Naw, Dumbing of Age is a completely new continuity.

      (Besides, in that universe the Head Alien was not a fictional guy, plus a whole bunch of other stuff that conflicts with this story.)

        But wasn’t the head alien universe and time jumping as well which would feasibly meen he could arrive in this universe but never show his face.

          In that universe, Dorothy and Walky met in high school. In Dumbing of Age they went to separate high schools and met in college. (Plus Walky and Dorothy and Billie were a year younger than Danny, Joe, and Joyce and so wouldn’t be around yet.)

          I expected people to know the difference between facetious and sarcastic. Sarcastic is basically a way of being nasty and mean. Generally a biting comment meant to insult. Whereas Facetious is playful, fun and teasing. 9 times out of 10 when someone says they were being sarcastic they were actually being facetious. Which I was, I think. Facetious that is.

      You know how the things that bother you most about other people are, when you think about it, often the things you like least about yourself? I think that’s one reason Billie’s so down on nerds and is clinging hard to her cheerleader / party girl persona. She’s a journalism nerd, and desperately trying to avoid admitting that to herself.

      Well, she is a journalist in the main continuity, and people are pretty much the same. She’s a bit of a prom queen cheerleader bongo, but she’s always taken her job seriously.

    I liked this more on the first read (everyone piling into Walky’s room while he is -in his underwear- for debriefing on a quick assault operation) until I realized that Billie was just going to push that stupid “win a Pullitzer by writing about my tyrant RA” idea again.

    Then I realized that Dorothy was in Walky’s room now.
    Now I like this strip again.
