          I thought there was some whole convoluted clone thing going on there. I stopped reading the comics ages ago so I can’t keep up. I don’t care how they retconned it, the ORIGINAL Spider-car will always be Billie.

          Sorry, but those old stories sucked. When they changed it to being Ruth in the modern comics, SC became a far stronger, more relatable character.

        I had a gay roommate in college and I had to learn all sorts of extra innuendo. I also tended to yell “Dammit, Chris, put a sock on the door!” but that’s an entirely different matter.

        I feel no shame when cracking gay jokes because I learned the best ways to question another man’s confidence in his own sexuality from a homosexual roommate.

    Ordinarily, speech bubble placement indicates which character speaks first, in that they generally follow a left-to-right, top-to-bottom pattern, as in normal reading. I think this must be one of the exceptions, although it’s interesting to imagine that Dorothy waited until Ruth was done before greeting Joyce.

      Dorothy did wait to say hi to Joyce until after Ruth finished speaking, because interrupting her would be rude. The balloon order is correct.

      General rule of thumb is that only blue and green eyes get colored something other than black, and certain characters had black and beady eyes by default because of when they were created. There’s certainly fewer blue-eyed characters than you would expect, but then enough are wearing glasses that they COULD have different eyes and you can’t tell.
