I’ve been struggling a bit to ‘like’ Jennifer as a protagonist. She’s been almost nothing but a pill for like 90% post timeskip, and any ‘good’ moments are swiftly erased.
The best I can say is that at least she’s low-stakes drama and we’re just waiting for the schadenfreude payoff I guess.
I’m not sure Jennifer has ever been a protagonist. She’s occasionally a viewpoint character, but I don’t think she’s ever actually driven the plot by her action or even inaction. (I’m not really up for re-reading the suicide pact storyline, which I think is where she was closest to being a protag.)
