      Huh. In this universe wouldn’t a Tarantugun only be seen in a cartoon like Dexter and Monkey-Master? Sal doesn’t seem like the type to get a tattoo based off a cartoon.

    I don’t think I’ve read or heard the phrase “is this a put-on” since I last read my Bloom County collections. I wasn’t aware people still used it.

    Also, I love Sal’s face in that last panel for some reason.

    I don’t know about the rest of you all, but hearing someone say “I wanna be just like you” seems kinda unsettling in that “Single-White Female” slasher film sort of way.

      That does actually come off a bit creepy… Though I doubt Joyce would go “Talented Mr. Ripley” or “Roommates” on Sal. Besides, Sal could take her if she did.

    Those things are just things Sal does … not the stuff she’s made of. It is perfectly normal for Joyce to want to empower herself and to have confidence. You can be cool without the cliche “rebel with a cause” candy shell.

    Just take all those same things and put it on someone else and you could have a villian, or a jerk in a bar, or worse still … a hippie.

    Why do I get a sudden sense of foreboding if she has her first taste of alcohol?

    While the bible apparently isn’t down on tattoos, the bible doesn’t approve of a lot of things and not every christian even tries follow them to the letter anyway (granted it’s impossible anyway). And I do hear of bikers for jesus- (don’t they have tattoos?)

    Maybe Joyce will try to get Sal to join that gang much to Sals annoyance.
