Actually, there are a handful of apartments that are actually more conveniently located than most of the dorms, depending on where most of your classes are located. Honestly Read and Forrest are kinda the least conveniently located dorms on campus, over on the south-east corner, pretty much only the theater and music programs regularly hold classes anywhere near there.
Meanwhile the stadium acts as a sort of bus station for the campus bus lines, so any of the apartment complexes near Dunn street, especially north of 17th, are arguably more convenient than Read/Forrest and at least a couple of them are possibly comparably priced, especially with roommates to split the cost. Less than a minute walk to the stop where all the bus lines intersect and there’s (supposed to be) a bus leaving every ten minutes, which means you can get to pretty much anywhere on campus fairly easily and quickly and don’t need to deal with as much weather or walking, and importantly you can pretty easily get back home from just about anywhere on the campus with no need for connecting lines. Plus there are a few city bus lines with stops conveniently located around there, too.
Hmm, define “live in”. How much time do you have to spend there?

Jacob and Lucy feel… kind of weird to me. This is two people who were pretty adamant in just not leaping into bed with someone who leapt into bed together- and that’s totally fine and awesome if that’s what they want now! But it also feels like they’re also trying to then jump straight to “full romantic relationship” without any of the steps of getting to know each other and building a connection? Like they feel like FWB one moment (or more like… acquaintances with benefits) and like they’re trying to convince themselves they have a deep romantic connection the next, and we’ve barely seen them together. Maybe I’ve missed something about them together, but it feels pretty… rebound-y for both parties (which makes sense for Lucy, but not really for Jacob (unless the romantic affections we’ve seen were more long-lasting than they seemed?))

Plunging into a new relationship headfirst actually seems in-character for Lucy. We’ve seen her do it before.
As for Jacob: Libido can surprise you, prompting Reason to take a few vacation days to sort things out. There may be a day coming when we see him pondering: “this is not who I thought I was.”
As a former “I don’t just leap into bed with people” (in my early college days) who absolutely DID just leap into bed with my future spouse, it turns out that “religious upbringing” + “dating people who weren’t actually what you wanted” was a heady stew of “not actually wanting to have sex”… and then you meet someone you really click with.
That’s certainly possible for some, but convincing yourself this is the person you really want to be with because you’re just horny and want to be with someone is at least as common, if not much more so.
It’s possible they just really hit it off and there won’t be any problems here, but it’s narratively unlikely.
Lucy’s pretty obviously reacting to how the relationship with Walky went and frankly, I suspect this is a pattern with Jacob. We know he’s unconsciously flirty and while we know he doesn’t like being objectified and avoids purely casual sex like Roz offered, that doesn’t mean that it takes more than a fig leaf of relationship to seduce him.
